McDowell County
Heating & Air Conditioning in Marion, NC
Marion is the western end of our territory — McDowell County, Lake James, and up toward Old Fort where the road starts to climb.
Marion sits higher and closer to the mountains than the rest of our service area, and the escarpment rises right behind it. Winters here have more teeth than they do down in the Catawba Valley, and that changes the whole calculation on a heat pump. In Hickory a heat pump coasts through most of the winter. In McDowell County it works for its money, and the difference between a system set up properly and one that leans on electric backup heat all season is a real number on the power bill every month.
Lake James brings its own situation. There are seasonal homes around the lake that sit empty for stretches, and a system that is not looked at before the season is the one that fails the weekend everybody arrives. Getting ahead of that is cheap. Finding out on a holiday weekend is not.
It is a longer run out here than it is across town, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise — but McDowell is one of the five counties we cover, and we go.

Questions we get in Marion
Does a heat pump actually work up here in the winter?
Yes — when it is sized and set up for this elevation rather than for a house down in the valley. Modern heat pumps hold their own in our winters. The systems that disappoint people are almost always the ones running on backup electric heat far more than they should, which is a setup problem, not a limitation of the equipment.
Do you service homes around Lake James?
Yes, on both the McDowell and the Burke side.
Is there a trip charge for coming out to Marion?
We quote the job before we do it, and what we quote is what you pay. If there is anything unusual about the call you will hear it from us up front, not after the fact.

It's rare in today's world to find a contractor that is there when he says he will be there, gives you a good price and does the job to perfection. I was a maintenance manager for 42 years and worked with contractors everyday. Hunter and his team impressed me and that is a hard thing to do. Look no further if you are looking for an HVAC contractor he is the one. Thanks guys!!!!

My AC was down and I called and received a call back almost immediately. Hunter came out, troubleshooted and got to the root of the problem. He was very personable, professional and a hard worker in this summer heat. He got us back up and running and was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be using your services again and will recommending to others!!!
