Hickory is home. It is where the trucks start the day and where most of our work is, which means when your air quits on a July afternoon you are usually a short drive away rather than a slot on next week’s schedule.
Hickory sits down in the Catawba Valley, and the valley holds heat and humidity the way a bowl holds water. July and August here are not just hot, they are heavy, and a system that is a little undersized or a little dirty will get through May and then fail the first week it is genuinely tested. That is the pattern we see every summer.
The housing tells its own story. There are a lot of brick ranches from the sixties and seventies through Viewmont, Highland and out toward Longview, and most of them are on their second or third system while still running the original ductwork underneath the house. Newer subdivisions out toward Mountain View and St. Stephens are tighter and better insulated, which changes what the right size actually is. A unit sized by the square footage on the tax card, with no thought to the house it is going in, is how people end up with equipment that short-cycles and a power bill they cannot explain.
We are a two-owner company. Neal or Hunter takes the call and Neal or Hunter does the work — there is no dispatcher in between and no commissioned salesman showing up after the technician leaves.

Usually not, or at least not only. On houses that age it is far more often the ductwork under the floor — crushed runs, disconnected boots, or not enough return air to feed the far end of the house. Replacing the equipment without fixing that gives you a newer system with the same warm bedroom. We will tell you which one it is before you spend anything.
Do you work on the brand I have?
We install Goodman, Ruud and Bosch, and we service any brand. Having equipment we did not put in is not a problem.

It's rare in today's world to find a contractor that is there when he says he will be there, gives you a good price and does the job to perfection. I was a maintenance manager for 42 years and worked with contractors everyday. Hunter and his team impressed me and that is a hard thing to do.
